I am the type of person who gets little enjoyment out of cooking...probably because the end result is pretty terrible. BUT whenever I transport myself into teaching mode for teaching the kids, I suddenly LOVE being in the kitchen. Because it's a teaching moment instead of a laborious event.
The kids love being in the kitchen cooking next to me also...because it's quality time building memories.
So I made these cute little age-appropriate cooking skills info-graphics so you can share on Pinterest and encourage other bad cooks to transform their kitchens into classrooms too.
Disclaimer: All kids develop differently, and this is just a guideline for how "I" introduced hands-on cooking skills to my own kids.

5-7 (all tasks must be supervised):
8-10 (all tasks must be supervised):
Once kids have mastered their way around all of the skills, they can start cooking on their own. All the years of my son helping in the kitchen paid off recently when my husband and I had the flu at the same time.

So get your kiddos in the kitchen and start creating a love for cooking.
