I feel so accomplished...my husband agreed to wear Christmas pajamas in public over the weekend. My cousins live in Palestine and they told us to make SURE to wear our pajamas for our Polar Express trip to see them. We were instructed to stay in our pajamas in public too.
Apparently, it's a "thing".
So our whole family wore pajamas and slippers for the 3-hour road trip to The Polar Express in Palestine, Texas. Our first pit stop felt a little awkward.
Then people started asking us if we were headed to the Polar Express, so it was reassuring that they understood our situation. Palestine is a town where wearing Christmas pajamas in public is socially acceptable, and customary around the holidays!
When we pulled into the Polar Express parking lot, we instantly spotted all the other families dressed in pajamas too.
I felt redeemed as a wife. I could tell by the look on my husband's face that seeing all those brave men in cute Christmas pajamas that their wives forced them wear made him feel relieved too.
He wasn't the only one. He even ran into a guy wearing the same pajamas as him.
-An Instant male bonding moment. Whew!
After our experience on the Polar Express, we ate at a restaurant in Palestine, still in our pajamas.
And we weren't the only group there wearing pajamas in public! We got smiles and compliments.
It's nice to know that we added to the Christmas spirit in the town.
